The County Council received the Volusia County
Tourism and Marketing Study Progress Report at the May 3, 2012 Council
meeting. View the pdf version of the presentation by clicking the image
above. For more information, go to the
Tourism and Marketing Study home page.

The County Council has earmarked up to 50 percent of revenues from
the ECHO program for years 2011 to 2021 for purchasing property that
provides public access to the St. Johns River, Halifax/Indian River, and
the Atlantic Ocean.

Nesting officially began May 1
and continues into August. Nests will continue to hatch through October.
Visitors to Volusia County beaches and residential and business owners
along the coast are encouraged to be proactive to help ensure a
productive nesting season.

Due to extremely
dry conditions and the threat of wildfires, outdoor burning is
prohibited in the unincorporated areas of Volusia County and the cities
of Pierson, Oak Hill and Lake Helen until further notice.

Volusia County Government. Read the latest news releases and
