During the Aug. 11 meeting of the Volusia County Council, consultants with Kittelson & Associates, Inc. presented a study on beach driving safety. The study provides a summary of existing conditions as it relates to beach driving, an overview of the operating conditions based on observations, a review of historical incident data, and the identification of potential changes that could be made to regulations, operations, signage, enforcement, and public outreach with the intent of enhancing both operations and safety.
