Volusia County Citizens Academy 2009

Day 9:
Part II, Try Living Without Us
The Public Works Department

8 a.m.- 5 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009

Ever wonder what happens to the leftover fries, food wrappers and napkins that you toss in the trash after polishing off your cheeseburger combo?

We'll find out where garbage goes on Day 9, when we visit Volusia County's only permitted landfill. We'll also learn more about reducing, reusing and recycling, along with details of the County's mosquito control efforts.

A bus tour of the Public Works projects in East Volusia will conclude the day.
