The Citizens Academy curriculum offers
a wide range of seminars and workshops featuring the "inner workings" of
Volusia County Government. Topics include elections, growth management,
community services, public protection, property assessments, budgets and
more. Citizens will view County construction projects, visit the Marine
Science Center and County parks, and shadow a County administrator for a
closer look at our organization.
Some basic knowledge and familiarity with computers is helpful, as class
materials are posted online and email is used to communicate with class
members.
For more information, please contact Cindy Finney, program
administrator, in the Volusia County Manager’s office at (386) 740-5160.
