Volusia County Council has determined that it is in the best interest of the public health, safety, and welfare to protect and preserve trees in Volusia County. The Tree Preservation Ordinance identifies circumstances that require issuance of a tree removal permit, and tree removal permits are handled differently depending on whether the proposed development is residential or non-residential; please use the appropriate application below. If tree removal is to be permitted in conjunction with a building permit, non-residential development, or subdivision, a separate tree permit application is not required.
