Management Services assists the Fire Services’ Director in the
administration and management of all logistical needs, supportive
functions and data and record keeping processes and
systems to support the division. Functions for which Management Services is responsible include
the following:
- Provide
facilities, services and materials in support of Fire Services.
Functions for which Management Services is responsible for also include
the following:
- Identify efficiency improvement
opportunities and develop improvement measures and estimates
- Identify new cost saving measures
for staff review and recommendation
- Maintain a technology plan for VCFS
that includes the utilization of AVL, MDT’s, GPS, GIS, Telestaff,
etc.
- Lead the effective implementation of
Fire House and other RMS software to assist in improving
the ability to identify and implement improved service delivery
methodologies and/or models
- Supervise and manage the Records
Management functions
- Fleet Management and maintenance
services
- Oversight of all supply chain management and
distribution of goods
- Oversight of assets, inventory control
and records
- Oversight of all capital construction
projects
- Oversight of radios and tele-communication
systems and equipment.
- ISO (fire insurance rating) program oversight
- Fire prevention and inspections
- Plan review
- Volunteer coordination program
