"Living in Florida" - mixed
mediums on polymer panel, by
John Wilmer ©2006 |
The subject matter is drawn from the
coastline across the wetlands and
pine forests to the county's western
St. Johns River boundaries. Images
include visual references from early
surfing culture to more whimsical
reflections that recall early post
card and advertising design.
Landscape is the predominant theme,
rendered in a variety of mixed media
including photographic and digital
imagery blended with acrylic paint
and low relief applications. The
collection of work reveals the
artist's true passion combined with
a playful sense of humor concerning
Volusia County, Florida.
