The
Volusia County Sheriff's Office is asking for the
public's help in finding a missing DeLand woman. The
subject, Marjorie Reynolds, is a 75-year-old woman
who suffers from Alzheimer’s Disease. She left on
foot at about 10:30 a.m. this morning from her home
at 2203 Orange Street and hasn’t been seen since.
Family members launched a search for the woman and
then called the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office at
1:44 p.m. when they couldn’t find her.
Reynolds is 5’1” and has
a thin build. She was last seen wearing bright lime
green pants and a green, plaid button-down shirt.
Patrol deputies along with Sheriff’s Office
bloodhounds and a helicopter have been searching for
Reynolds all afternoon. Anyone who spots her or has
information on her possible whereabouts is asked to
call the Sheriff’s Office at (386) 736-5999.
UPDATE:
August 7, 8 a.m. -- Volusia County Sheriff’s
Office patrol deputies, K-9 units and investigators
are engaged in an active search focusing on areas
northwest of DeLand. A Sheriff’s Office helicopter
and bloodhounds also have been used in the search,
and a reverse 911 call was sent out to residents in
the area to be on lookout for Reynolds.
UPDATE:
August 8, 11:30 a.m. - The search for Marjorie
Reynolds is on going this weekend. The Volusia
County Sheriff's Office is being assisted by
personnel from the Orange City Fire Department and
various volunteer groups. It is estimated that about
200 people are actively searching for Reynolds at
this time.
