SHERIFF'S OFFICE INVESTIGATING SHOOTING

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Sunday afternoon shooting incident that sent an Orlando man to the hospital with a non-life threatening wound to his leg. Deputies were called to Florida Hospital Fish Memorial in Orange City at about 3:15 p.m. when two men dropped 23-year-old Larry Coleman off there and then left. Coleman had a gunshot wound through his right leg that he said he got while visiting an unknown Deltona apartment complex. Coleman said he was in the area visiting with friends. However, he refused to give deputies details about what had happened, who was involved or where it happened.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (386) 736-5999 or Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida, toll-free, at (888) 277-TIPS. Tipsters can also provide information by texting “TIP231 plus the message” to CRIMES. Anyone who provides information to Crime Stoppers will remain anonymous and can qualify for a reward of up to $1,000.
