New Smyrna Beach Regional Library hosts 'Folk Fest' Jan. 30 and Feb. 6

Live folk music comes to New Smyrna Beach Regional Library as folk duos and recording artists perform. The event is part of the Live in the Library event, Folk Fest.

Hungrytown will perform at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30; and Jeni & Billy will perform at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6. The duos draw from old-time and Appalachian folk music to create original compositions.

Folk Fest also includes a children’s program with recording artist “Mrs. Kate” Carpenter, who will share her original, family-friendly Florida folk songs at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30.

Intricate folk art quilts are on display in the library’s reading room.

The programs are sponsored by the Friends of the Library and are free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served at concerts.

The library is open seven days a week at 1001 S. Dixie Freeway. For more information, please call (386) 424-2910, ext. 104 or 105.
