SPECIAL MASTER TO HEAR COUNTY FIREFIGHTER CONTRACT IMPASSE

A special master appointed by the Public Employee Relations Commission (PERC) will hear presentations from Volusia County Government and the International Association of Fire Fighters union on the declared impasse in contract negotiations. A public hearing is scheduled at 9 a.m. March 5 and 6 in the conference room of the County Personnel Division, second floor of the Bank of America building, 230 N. Woodland Blvd., DeLand. The hearing is open to the public.

The county and the union representing county firefighters and lieutenants have not come to terms on a labor contract for the 2007-08 fiscal year.
