NEW SMYRNA BEACH LIBRARY OFFERS
FREE COMPUTER CLASSES
The New Smyrna Beach Regional Library will offer free computer
classes in May to help beginners learn the fundamentals.
“Internet Basics” will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 1; and 10 a.m.
Saturday, May 24. Attendees will learn about the Internet and acquire
basic skills to access and navigate Web sites.
“Computer Basics” will be at 5 p.m. Monday, May 5; and 2 p.m.
Wednesday, May 14. This class is for people with little or no computer
experience who want to learn about the components of a computer and get
acquainted with terminology.
A Microsoft Word class begins at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 22.
Attendees will learn the fundamentals of using Word. Topics will include
menus and toolbars, wizards, spell check, copy/cut/paste, printing,
saving Word art and adding graphics.
Participants can learn about Microsoft Excel at 10 a.m.
Saturday, May 31. Excel is a spreadsheet program used to organize data,
perform calculations, and create worksheets and charts. This class
introduces basic concepts and explains elements of the Excel screen.
Demonstrations will include entering data, formatting, and working with
cells, rows and columns.
