ART IN PUBLIC PLACE COMMITTEE TO MEET APRIL

The Art in Public Places selection committee for the new Beach
Services building will meet at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, in the
conference room of the Beach Services Administration Building, 440 S.
Beach St., Daytona Beach.
The committee, part of the Cultural Council of Volusia County, will
discuss potential art locations in the new facility and consider artists
for the project. Artwork will be placed in public areas of the new
building, which is under construction on South Atlantic Avenue, next to
Sun Splash Park in Daytona Beach.
Volusia County’s Art in Public Places program provides for 0.5 to 1
percent of total construction costs to be set aside for procurement of
artwork in public areas of all new, expanded or renovated County
buildings.
The public is invited to attend the meeting. In accordance with the
Americans with Disabilities Act and Florida statutes, persons with
disabilities who need special accommodation to participate in the
proceedings should request assistance at least two business days before
the meeting.
