OCEAN CENTER ART IN PUBLIC PLACES
SELECTION COMMITTEE TO MEET MAY 13

The Art in Public Places selection committee for the Ocean Center expansion project will meet at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, in the Ocean Room of the Ocean Center, 101 N. Atlantic Ave., Daytona Beach.

The committee is part of the Cultural Council of Volusia County, which is an advisory board to the Volusia County Council. Members will continue their review of submissions received from more than 80 artists across the United States. Selected artwork will be installed in the Ocean Center upon completion of the expansion project. The public is invited to attend this review.

Volusia County’s Art in Public Places program provides for 0.5 to 1 percent of total construction costs to be set aside for procurement of artwork to be placed in public areas of all new, expanded or renovated County buildings.

In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Florida Statutes, persons with disabilities needing special accommodation to participate in the proceedings should request assistance at least two business days before the date of the meeting.

For more information or accommodation, contact Mike Fincher, cultural coordinator for Volusia County Leisure Services, at (386) 736-5953, ext. 5872, or mfincher@co.volusia.fl.us.
