County Extension offers pesticide training
Jan. 21

The University of Florida/Volusia County Extension will offer pesticide training and testing Thursday, Jan. 21, at the Volusia County Agricultural Center, 3100 E. New York Ave., DeLand.

Extension Agent Dana Venrick will instruct a seminar for landscapers seeking a pesticide applicator license for limited commercial landscape maintenance from 8:30 a.m. - 2:35 p.m. The certification examination will be given at 2:45 p.m. Licensed applicators can earn up to six CEUs for recertification.

The fee is $30, which includes lunch. Pre-registration is required and may be made by calling (386) 822-5778. Registration forms are available at www.volusia.org/extension/horticulture.htm. Study materials should be ordered by calling (800) 226-1764.
