Deltona Regional Library announces
fall program schedule
With the opening of the expanded Deltona
Regional Library Oct. 17, community members of all ages will have a
variety of educational and entertainment programs to choose from.
Children’s programs will include:
- Toddler Storytime at 10:30 a.m.
Tuesdays for ages 1½ - 3
- Preschool Storytime at 10:30 a.m.
Wednesdays for ages 3 - 5
- Bilingual Storytime at 10:30 a.m.
Thursdays for all ages
- Just for Babies at 10 a.m. Fridays for
non-walkers, and at 10:30 a.m. Fridays for walkers up to 24 months
- After-school program at 2:45 p.m.
Monday through Thursday for children in grades K - 5
As part of Teen Read Week, teenagers can
check out the Freaky Film Fest at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, and the
Amazing Race from 4 - 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22.
Holiday events for children and their
parents include a Halloween program at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29; and
a Winter Holidays program at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17.
The Lunch Hour Book Club will meet from
11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month beginning Nov. 18.
Participants are asked to bring a book they would like to share.
The library will host a Caregiver Fair
from 10 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4. Speakers will address topics
of concern to caregivers. Information tables will be staffed by area
organizations, agencies and businesses that provide care for the
chronically and terminally ill.
Free computer classes, for adults who
have little or no computer experience, will include:
- Basic Computers at 9:30 a.m.
Wednesdays, Nov. 4 and 11 and Dec. 2 and 9
- Basic Internet at 9:30 a.m. Thursdays,
Nov. 5 and 12 and Dec. 3 and 10
- Basic E-mail at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday,
Nov. 18
- Basic Word 2007 at 9:30 a.m. Thursday,
Nov. 19

The Deltona Regional Library will reopen
at 2150 Eustace Ave. Saturday, Oct. 17, with a day-long celebration that
will allow participants to discover the library’s new features and visit
its new neighbors - the Lyonia Environmental Center and Deltona
Amphitheater. Attendees will receive free admission to the environmental
center and can and take a guided tour of Lyonia Preserve.
The 1,000-seat amphitheater will host
musical performances by community groups from 10 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. and a
concert by Caribbean Crew from 3 - 5 p.m. Activities will include a
youth treasure hunt, children’s games and a hands-on mosaic workshop.
