Deltona Regional Library announces November program schedule

The Deltona Regional Library will offer a variety of educational and entertainment programs for people of all ages in November. There will be no regular programs the week of Nov. 22.

Children’s programs will include:

• Toddler Storytime at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays for ages 1½ - 3
• Preschool Storytime at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays for ages 3 - 5
• Bilingual Storytime at 10:30 a.m. Thursdays for all ages
• Just for Babies at 10 a.m. Fridays for non-walkers, and at 10:30 a.m. Fridays for walkers up to 24 months
• After-school program at 2:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday for children in grades K - 5

Teen events include movies at 4 p.m. Mondays, Wii gaming at 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, crafts at 4 p.m. Tuesdays, “Wild Card” at 4 p.m. Wednesdays, and games at 4 p.m. Thursdays.

The library will host a Caregiver Fair from 10 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4. Speakers will address topics of concern to caregivers. Information tables will be staffed by area organizations, agencies and businesses that provide care for the chronically and terminally ill.

Free computer classes, for adults who have little or no computer experience, will include:

• Basic Computers at 9:30 a.m. Wednesdays, Nov. 4 and 11 and Dec. 2 and 9
• Basic Internet at 9:30 a.m. Thursdays, Nov. 5 and 12 and Dec. 3 and 10
• Basic E-mail at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18
• Basic Word 2007 at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19

The Lunch Hour Book Club will meet from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month beginning Nov. 18. Participants are asked to bring a book they would like to share.

All Volusia County public libraries will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, and reopen Saturday, Nov. 28.

The Deltona Regional Library, 2150 Eustace Ave., reopened Oct. 17 following an expansion project that doubled its size from 25,000 to 50,000 square feet, added an auditorium and teen area, and enlarged the children’s section and computer area. It is open from 9:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 1 - 5 p.m. Sunday.
