THIEF CAUGHT ON SECURITY CAMERA VIDEO
A
thief made off with several packs of cigarettes early Monday morning
from a local convenience store, but the watchful eye of a security
camera captured his image. Now Volusia County Sheriff's Office
investigators are asking for the public's help in identifying the
suspect who robbed the DeBary store.
At
about 4:14 a.m., a deputy responding to an alarm at the Cumberland Farms
Store at 600 S. U.S. Highway 17-92 found the store's front glass door
and front window smashed. A few moments later, a store clerk
arrived on scene and discovered that the only items taken from the store
were an undisclosed number of cigarette packs.
Investigator
Carmel Livingood later obtained the store's security camera tape, which
captured an image of the suspect breaking the glass door. The
Sheriff’s Office released the photo Thursday, hoping the image will
generate additional leads and a possible identification of the suspect.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact investigator
Livingood at (386) 668-3830 or Crime Stoppers of Volusia and Flagler
Counties, toll-free, at 1-888-277-TIPS. Callers to Crime Stoppers will
remain anonymous and can qualify for a reward of up to $1,000.
