MOTORISTS ADVISED OF TRAFFIC CONGESTION FOR BIKE WEEK EVENTS

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office is reminding motorists to drive safely and exercise caution and patience on the roads during Bike Week. Motorists also should be aware of possible traffic congestion and changes in traffic patterns associated with the event. There are a lot of motorists traveling throughout the county during this event, and deputies advise drivers to obey all traffic rules and speed limits. Keep in mind that motorcycles are sometimes hard to see, so everyone should “look twice, save a life.”

  • On Wednesday and Saturday from approximately 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., the area of Tomoka Farms Road and Pioneer Trail will be very congested. Eastbound traffic on Pioneer Trail will be rerouted to southbound Tomoka Farms Road.
  • On Thursday, traffic on State Road 44, both eastbound and westbound, will be affected by activity at Pub 44. There will not be any detours, but heavy pedestrian and vehicle traffic is expected starting at about 2 p.m.
  • Throughout Bike Week the area around Destination Daytona, near the intersection of US Hwy 1 and I-95 is expected to be congested from approximately 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Traffic delays should be expected, especially northbound.
  • Throughout Bike Week, traffic around U.S. Hwy 1 and Airport road is expected to be heavy from noon until 2 a.m.
