History of Sugar Mill Gardens

Dianne Gilpatrick, a long-time volunteer at Dunlawton Sugar Mill Gardens, will explain the site’s history during a free presentation at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, at the Port Orange Regional Library, 1005 City Center Circle.

She will discuss its first incarnation as a 19th century sugar mill plantation, its transformation into Bongoland in the 1940s, and its current role as botanical gardens maintained by volunteers.
