Pastor David Troxler, from the First Church of Christ and president of Volusia Interfaith/Agencies Networking in Disaster (VIND), will be the guest speaker at the next meeting of the Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD).
The group will meet from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, in the first-floor Airline Room at the Daytona Beach International Airport, 700 Catalina Drive, Daytona Beach.
VIND is a long-term recovery group that assists people with unmet needs in the community after a disaster.
The public is invited, and refreshments will be served. Participants may bring parking slips to the meeting for validation and free parking.
COAD is a multi-agency group that assists local governments in coordinating volunteers and donated resources. It also helps with disaster preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation. Membership is open to individuals, faith-based groups, government agencies, civic clubs, volunteer organizations, social service agencies, business people and emergency management personnel.
