Update on curfew and evacuations

Posted On: September 2, 2019

Volusia County officials have clarified the mandatory evacuation order. The order, which was effective at 10 a.m. today, applies to:

  • Residents who live on the beachside
  • Residents who live in low-lying areas, RVs and mobile homes east of I-95.

Persons who live in areas not included in the mandatory evacuation order should pay close attention to the weather forecasts and evacuate voluntarily if needed.

The emergency curfew for cities and unincorporated areas east of the Halifax River has been extended. The new hours are from 6 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday, and from 6 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday. The restriction does not apply to authorized public safety personnel.
