- Louise Stanley

How time does fly!! Two years gone in a flash.

It has been an exciting two years. Seeing and living the excitement of building the Lookout at Lake Woodruff, the usual bird counts and outings, along with the not so usual event at Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge on October 11, 1998 when we joined with the County, the LWNWR, and Florida Fish and Game in a Wildlife Festival at the Refuge.

Not everything was easy, or went as planned, but always was interesting. I look forward to returning to being an "Indian" rather than a "Chief". I now understand more clearly than ever that "Indians" who pitch in are VITAL.

Without you (the Indians) it would have been impossible to help the DeLand Museum of Art with the Audubon in Florida Exhibit, the Swallowtail Kite Study we are currently involved in, or any of the other projects we have accomplished.

Thank you all. I look forward to joining you in next year's assembled meetings. Meanwhile, I hope to see many of you at the Banquet Meeting on May 25!!
