Tuskawilla Park
Tuskawilla Park is small, but it is full of small wonders. A pleasant birding area, it is
right smack in the heart of Daytona Beach, off Nova Road at Orange Avenue.
Even with the hum of traffic nearby, this is a
place to be on the lookout for a Barred Owl! The open coastal hammock terrain attracts
many birds and it is inviting to weary migrants. And the neighbors are excellent. The
Museum of Arts & Sciences is adjacent to the park on Museum Avenue and well worth a
visit.
The Museum features the skeleton of a giant ground
sloth excavated in the area - the finest yet found in North America. Other permanent
exhibits include a collection of 17-19th century American furniture and decorative arts,
and Cuban history and local history exhibits. Other offerings include special exhibits and
a gift shop. For information, call the Museum at (904) 255-0285.
