Volusia County's
Marine Science Center (MSC)
Fast Facts
"Washbacks" are newly-hatched baby sea turtles that are
"washed back" to shore by rough seas. Since opening in
2002, the MSC has received and cared for thousands of
them, along with hundreds of hatchlings and juvenile and
adult sea turtles.
You'll be able to see some of these marine reptiles at
the seven turtle hospital pools located in front of the
main facility.
