Housing Rehabilitation
 
Housing Rehabilitation For homeowners who need assistance to bring their substandard property up to housing codes.
Substantial Rehabilitation For homes that cannot be rehabilitated due  to extensive deterioration. Homes are demolished and reconstructed on the owner’s lot.
Emergency Repair For homes with code violations that pose immediate health and/or safety hazards.

Assistance is provided in the form of a zero interest loan that must be repaid over a term not to exceed 30 years. The amount of the loan and/or the term length is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the cost of the project and the age of the homeowner.

Homebuyer Assistance

New homes Provides funds for down payment and closing costs toward the purchase of a newly constructed home.
 
Existing homes Provides funds for down payment and closing cost toward the purchase of an existing home. These homes must also pass an HQS inspection.

Neighborhood Stabilization - Homebuyer Assistance

Provides a deferred payment loan to approved households for down payment, gap financing and closing cost towards the purchase of a Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) property.

Assistance is provided with a 15-year deferred subordinate loan at 0% interest with shared appreciation features.

If you are interested in becoming an approved affordable housing partner for the County of Volusia's homebuyer assistance program for 2010-2011, an application may be accessed on the applications page.

Application packets include instructions for completing the first step of the process.
