Mission:
To provide safe, decent and sanitary housing for families throughout
Volusia County.
Overview:
As the County’s Public Housing Agency (PHA), the Community Assistance
Division administers approximately 322 housing choice vouchers. The
Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8) is the federal government
major program which assists very low-income families including the
elderly, and the disabled to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing
in the private market. Since housing assistance is provided on behalf of
the family or individual, participants are able to find their own
suitable housing, including single-family homes, townhouses and
apartments.
