Stabilization Program
The federally-funded Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) will
assist state and local governments to acquire and redevelop abandoned
and foreclosed properties that might otherwise become sources of
abandonment and blight within their community.
CDBG-R
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 ("Recovery Act")
awards Community Development Block Grant Recovery (CDBG-R) funds to
cities, counties, insular areas and states. Recipients of CDBG-R funds
are the approximately 1,200 jurisdictions that received Community
Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding in Fiscal Year 2008. These funds
must be used for community development activities that meet one of the
three national objectives of CDBG; benefit low and moderate-income
persons; aid in the prevention or elimination of slums or blight; or
meet a need having a particular urgency.
Community Services Block Grant Program (CSBG)
– American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009
The Florida Department of Community Affairs (DCA) administers the CSBG
program within the State of Florida. The CSBG program’s primary purpose
is to provide funds to alleviate the causes and conditions of poverty in
communities through a broad range of services that promote economic
self-sufficiency, family stability and community revitalization. Volusia
County Community Assistance Division’s Human Services Activity
implements the CSBG program activities. DCA awarded a one time
allocation of $727,687 to Volusia County to continue to support
employment-related services and create and sustain economic growth.
Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program –
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), Office of Criminal
Justice Grants, administers the JAG Program within the state of Florida.
As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009,
FDLE awarded a one time allocation in the amount of $1,212,965 to
Volusia County to support a broad range of activities including:
- Law enforcement programs;
- Prosecution and court programs;
- Prevention and education programs;
- Corrections and community
corrections programs;
- Drug treatment programs;
- Planning, evaluation, and technology
improvement programs; and,
- Crime victim and witness programs.
