Chair’s Report
Chair announced dates for next two CFAB
meetings 6/18 at City Island Library and 10/22 at United Way
Old Business:
Allocation of 2003-2004 funding
Motion made by Alice Johnson and seconded
by Dr. Martin to cap funding of all new children’s programs at $15,000.
Motion passed.
Motion made by Alice Johnson and seconded
by Kymberly Cook to reduce funding of existing agencies for community
programs with 100% tier value by $4558. (Initial funding allocation
exceeded total amount of funding available. Agencies reduced on pro rata
basis). (See Attachment B)
Motion made by Dr. Martin and seconded by
Alice Johnson to move Zones funding to amount requested.
Motion made by Alice Johnson and seconded
by Dr. Martin to spread proportionally the balance of available budget
($129,005) on children’s programs, with the exception of the Zones, or
where the amount would exceed amount requested, not to exceed 10%, to
those agencies losing funds.
Board discussed review of holding harmless
agencies receiving matching funds and residential programs.
Percentages assigned to tiers, results of
the above motions, and funding recommendations are attached.
New Business:
Mr. Williams advised CFAB of request from
League of Women Voters regarding licensure of family home day cares. Item
is on County Council’s Agenda for 4/24/03. Staff is recommending to
Council that issue be reviewed by CFAB and recommendations be presented by
year end.

Claris Mac’Kie of Family Renew, Gwen Monroe, YMCA, Joe Sullivan, Boys
and Girls Clubs.
