Report: Chair expressed appreciation for public participation.
Minutes:
Motion made by Mary Lou Mirino to approve minutes of June 18. Motion
seconded by Dr. Henry Martin. Motion passed.
Correspondence:
Mary Bruno read letters of
appreciation from 4H Trailblazer Club and Wendy Brown, parent of child
that attended summer camp on scholarship.
Old
Business: Chair reminded Board that
today’s meeting is the second information gathering session regarding
child care licensure. Presentations regarding licensure of family home day
cares made by

Skeeter Surguine, Dept. of Children and Families
Paul Minshew, Volusia County Health Department
Mary Lou Mirino stated she
may not be available to attend public meetings scheduled on Mondays. Chair
requested staff to email directions to public meeting locations.
New
Business: Board
appointed Dr. Martin, Marisa Shirley, Mary Lou Mirino and Mary Bruno as
sub-committee to review 2004-2005 application and evaluation elements for
scoring.
Public
Participation: Claris MacKie of
Family Renew announced agency’s annual bike run and golf tournament.
Advisory Board
Participation: Marisa Shirley,
Karen Bourbonnais, Dr. Martin and Mary Lou Mirino expressed appreciation
to tonight’s presenters. Mary Lou Mirino stated she may not be available
to attend public meetings scheduled on Monday. Maria Augustine stated she
may be out of town for the August 11 meeting. Chair reiterated importance
of attending public meetings and potential impact of CFAB’s
recommendation.
