Students learn about the County's structure and the elections process in the first session.

	A variety of speakers have appeared before the group during its first sessions, which have been held in a variety of locations.The students are shown here in the Training Rooms of the Volusia County Administration Center in downtown DeLand.
Elections Supervisor Deanie Lowe explains the elections process to  Academy students. With elections under way, it's a busy time of the year for this department.
	Council Chair Ann McFall describes  the structure of County Government. Students were later assigned a County official to "shadow" for a day to receive an in depth look at the job.
