Ecological paradise abounds in Volusia County with an
abundance of natural places to view and experience firsthand. The county proudly
boasts approximately 240,000 acres of conservation lands, 172 linear miles of
waterways, and 35 miles of beautiful sandy beaches. From beautiful clear springs
where water bubbles to the surface at 72-degrees year-round, to temperate
forests canopied with live oaks, to the sandy uplands of scrub habitat that are
remnants of Florida’s past, Volusia County offers a wealth of ecological
adventure for all. In addition, many unique animals and plants flourish within
these amazing ecosystems. We invite you to experience these jewels of nature for
yourself.
