permitting activity, and home foreclosures and trends. This data is
published quarterly by the DOED. If you would like to discuss this

PROTECT YOUR HOME – The most important precaution you can take to reduce
damage to your home and property is to protect the areas where wind can
enter. According to recent wind technology research, it's important to
strengthen the exterior of your house so wind and debris do not tear
large openings. You can do this by protecting and reinforcing the five
critical areas of your home – roof, straps, windows, doors and garage
doors. The Florida Department of Emergency Management publishes the
“Hurricane Retrofit Guide” with more information. The guide is available
online at
floridadisaster.org/Mitigation/rcmp/HRG/index.asp.
COOLER HEADS PREVAIL – Florida Power and Light's Business Energy
Evaluation is a free, comprehensive review of your facilities’ energy
usage that examines everything in the facility that uses energy. Based
on the energy use evaluation, businesses receive specific
recommendations on how they can reduce energy costs and take advantage
of FPL incentives. Whether you're updating equipment, renovating or
building a new facility, it's a good idea contact FPL at (800) 375-5566
to find out how your company can save money on its energy costs.
