Supervisor Ann McFall Asks Voter to
Update Records
With the
November 4, 2008 Presidential Election less than two months away,
Supervisor Ann McFall urges voters to use this opportunity to update
voter records with the Department of Elections prior to book closing
October 6, 2008.
“Some voters
who have recently moved often are unsure of where to vote on
Election Day because it is required by law that a voter vote in the
precinct associated with their current residential address.” stated
Supervisor McFall.
Frustration
at the polls can be significantly reduced if voters would use this
opportunity prior to the November 4, 2008 election to make necessary
updates to voter registration records.
This gives the voter the
opportunity to learn ahead of time if they are assigned to a
different voting precinct if they have moved since the last time
they voted. Address
changes from one Volusia County
address to another can easily be done by phone, fax, e-mail, in
person, mail or on the Department of Elections website.
Address changes from another county in
Florida
to Volusia County must be completed on a Florida
Voter Registration Application.
The
Florida Voter Registration Application is not only used for new
registrations and address changes, but is used to make name and
party affiliation changes along with signature updates.
Applications can be found at all Volusia County public
libraries, post offices, drivers license bureaus, city halls,
chambers of commerce, many Volusia County offices or you can
download one from the Department of Elections website.
