PENDING RECOUNTS OF FOUR VOLUSIA COUNTY RACES

Supervisor of Elections Ann McFall announces that four Volusia County races from the November 4, 2008 General Election will be recounted. State law requires that if the margin between two candidates or choices in a particular race is a half of a percent or less, a machine recount of that race is to take place. If the margin is a quarter of a percent or less, a manual recount will follow the machine recount.

The recount process will begin on Friday, November 7 at 9:00 am at the Department of Elections located at 125 W. New York Avenue, Deland. Races to be recounted are County Council District 2, Lake Helen City Commission, Zone 2, Lake Helen City Commission, Zone 4 and a Deltona Referendum question in regards to citizen petitions.
