Internship Program
The Department of Elections provides students the opportunity
for participation and training in the election process.
Participants will be assigned to various job duties within the
department. The goal of the Internship Program is to provide
students with practical on-the-job learning experiences.
Rate of Pay: $10.00 per hour
Hours of Work: Participants
will work a minimum of 20 hours and up to 40 hours per week,
with flexibility available to accommodate school schedules. Some
working hours may be in the evening or on the weekend.
Eligibility Requirements:
Students must be at least 18 years of age or be entering their
Senior year in high school, and be a resident of Volusia County;
or, students may be non-residents currently attending a college
or university in Volusia County.
Voter Registration: Students
accepted into the program must be registered voters in the state of
Florida; some work assignments require student workers to be
registered voters in Volusia County.
Internship Start Date: Selected students will
begin work around the first week of June 2008 and can continue
through the General Election November 4 based on availability.
