MCFALL REMINDS VOTERS ABOUT PRIMARY ELECTIONS
As we
approach the Presidential Preference Primary on January 29, 2008,
Supervisor of Elections Ann McFall reminds voters that Florida is a closed primary state. By
Florida
law, party affiliation designations and changes must be completed by
the registration deadline, December 31, 2007.
“In a Primary Election in Florida, a voter is
entitled to vote the official ballot of the political party
designated in a voter’s registration and no other.” states
Supervisor McFall.
Party
designations and changes must be done on a Florida Voter
Registration Application and are available at all Volusia County
libraries, city halls, post offices, chambers of commerce, driver
license bureaus, agencies that provide public assistance, offices
that serve persons with disabilities and centers for independent
living, locations where hunting, fishing or trapping licenses or
permits are sold and many Volusia County Government offices
including the Supervisor of Elections office.
