Non-Residentail Permit Details

Non-residential tree permit information:

Removal of any tree over 6” in diameter at breast height (DBH) on non-residential properties (including new subdivisions, multi-family projects, or mobile home parks) requires a tree permit.  Replacement must be provided for all trees removed based on the total cross sectional square inches of the trees removed.  Click here for an explanation of cross sectional area.

How to get a non-residential tree removal permit:

First determine which type of tree permit is required.

    1. If you are applying for a tree removal permit in conjunction with a site plan or subdivision application, the tree permit review will be handled as part of the overall review. A permit fee of $74.00 plus $18.00 per tree removed (up to a max of $615.00) will be required at time of application.  For site plan or subdivision submittal requirements please inquire at the Land Development office http://www.volusia.org/growth/landdev.htm.  Click here for more information for site plan and subdivision review tree permitting.
If you need a permit to remove one or more trees on an already developed non-residential site (including subdivision common areas, multi-family projects, or mobile home parks) please use Land Development.
    1. Application for Development Permit and check Tree Removal in Section I.  This information sheet will help you understand the submittal requirements.
    2. Please note that tree removal is not permitted on undeveloped non-residential property.
