It is the purpose and intent of the Volusia County Wetland Ordinance to provide for the protection, maintenance, enhancement and utilization of wetlands in Volusia County.  A wetland alteration permit is generally required for impacts to county jurisdictional wetlands and their upland buffers, and wetland alteration permits are handled differently depending on whether the proposed development is residential or non-residential; please use the appropriate application below.  If wetland or buffer impacts are to be permitted in conjunction with a building permit, non-residential development, or subdivision, a separate wetland permit application is not required.
