Florida Association for Home and Community Education Clubs are
sponsored by Volusia County University of Florida Extension Service
through the auspices of the USDA and the Institute of Food and
Agricultural Sciences, University of Florida.
Members belong to a Florida Association of Home and Community
Education Club, which is a group of friends and neighbors who come
together to share their skills, learn, and make friends. Members attend
monthly learning sessions provided by the University of Florida
Extension Service and present those lessons to club members at their
club meetings. Members also belong to a county council that meets five
four times a year.
Members of this organization are a part of the National Association
for Home and Community Education. FAHCE membership dues are set by the
club and council. FAHCE members are involved in numerous educational
projects and activities. Educationally, they support:
- Children's needs
- Environmental Issues
- Aging and Intergenerational Issues
- Literacy Programs and special projects
Members can attend the state conference, FAHCE camp, district events
and other activities. Call the Extension office concerning FAHCE clubs
and membership.
