Florida Smart Home Buying and Maintenance Guide

Thinking of buying or building a new home? You may want to purchase the "Florida Smart Home Buying and Maintenance Guide," a 66-page book developed by the Volusia County Cooperative Extension Service.

The book, written by Natural Resource Extension Agent David Griffis, is an easy-to-read guide to saving energy, water use, heating and air conditioning systems, landscaping, lighting, appliances, windows, septic tanks, termites, energy mortgages and the Energy Star Program.

The cost of the guide is $7. Copies are available at the Cooperative Extension Office, 3100 E. New York Ave., DeLand. For more information, call the Extension Office at (386) 822-5778 in West Volusia; 257-6012 in Daytona Beach or 423-3368 in Southeast Volusia.
