Public Information SpecialistALL VISITING FIREFIGHTERS RELOCATED
Emergency Management officials have relocated all visiting firefighters to dormitories at Stetson University in DeLand. Visiting Department of Public Works workers, equipment operators and National Guard personnel will be fed and housed at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach. Volunteer groups, organizations and individuals are assisting. The group will be fed off-duty meals at the dormitories. Officials are accepting donations of bottled water and non-carbonated soda in single serving containers. Donations of small quantities of food is not being accepted. All fire-related personnel are staying on campuses to facilitate transportation. Offers of housing are appreciated but not practical for group transportation and feeding.
Fire officials have received assistance from certified firemen from throughout the State and offers of assistance from hundreds of firefighters who hold active certification from other states.
