Marge Creech Named
Firefighter of the Year
In her role as the Child Safety Seat
Coordinator for Volusia County Fire Services’ Child Safety Seat Program,
Marge Creech has impacted scores of local families through the
instruction of caregivers in child safety issues. Her dedication and
personal belief in this program along with the work ethic, determination
and pride she displays as a firefighter, made her an obvious choice to
be named Volusia County Fire Services Firefighter of the Year.
In her role as Child Safety Seat
Coordinator, Marge works closely with other county departments and
agencies in Volusia and Flagler Counties to ensure the safety of our
community’s children. She is responsible for scheduling child safety
seat checkup events, tracking certifications of Volusia County Fire
Services Child Safety Seat Technicians and scheduling them to work
events as well as locating sponsors and fulfilling the obligations of
any grants connected to the program.
She also serves as the Facility
Maintenance Liaison for Volusia County Fire Services, addressing the
repair concerns of all VCFS fire stations. Although her schedule is
already demanding, Firefighter Creech chooses to train with and be an
active member of Volusia County Fire Services’ Honor Guard proudly
representing the department at official events such as parades and
funerals.
Marge has been with Volusia County Fire
Services for fourteen years and is stationed at Station 36 in Osteen. In
her free time, she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren.
