Carroll Avenue Fire in DeLand
On May 26, 2006 DeLand Fire Rescue Ladder 81 arrived in the Carroll Avenue area for a power lines down call. While at the scene, a homeowner notified the crew of smoke in her home. The crew quickly notified dispatch and a structure fire assignment was dispatched while an initial attack was made. DeLand Fire Rescue Tanker 41 and Volusia County Fire Services Engine 32 and Squad 46 responded. Unfortunately, the family cat perished.
