Winds Blow
Roof Off Mobile Home
A cold front moving through
West Volusia County on February 27, 2005, generated heavy winds. These
winds actually blew the roof off this mobile home catching the roof on
power lines as it eventually landed on an adjacent structure. After
Progress Energy Florida secured the live power line, crews from Engines
31, 33 and Squad 35 removed the roof, placed it on the ground and secured
it as winds were expected to gust overnight to 30 miles per hour. The
owner of the structure was home at the time of the incident and did not
sustain injury.
