DeLeon Springs MVA
VCFS arrived on scene to find one patient heavily entrapped in a green Saturn. A female patient, with minor entrapment, was inside a minivan on its side. The driver of the mini van was on the ground near the rear of the minivan with a pediatric patient who was ejected.
EVAC arrived on scene and began secondary triage. Engine 41's crew extricated the female patient in the minivan. The crew of Squad 46 and Battalion 40 extricated the heavily entrapped patient who still had a pulse and respirations. However, after being moved to the backboard, the patient coded. The pediatric patient was flown by Air One to Halifax Hospital while the child's parents were taken via ground to the hospital.
Units on scene also included: PIO 10 and several members of Volusia County Fire Services Fire Police Team.
