Motor Vehicle Accident on Hwy. 92 Kills One

On October 14, 2006 in the early afternoon, VCFS, DeLand Fire Department and EVAC responded to a reported multiple patient motor vehicle accident. The first arriving unit advised five patients were entrapped in one vehicle that had rolled several times and come to a standstill on its roof. There were also multiple patients in the second vehicle and Air One and Aircare were added to the call.

In total, 12 patients were treated and transported to various hospitals via helicopter or ambulance. One patient was declared dead on the scene. The cause of the crash is being investigated by the Florida Highway Patrol.
