National Fire Fighter Near-Miss Reporting System
The National Fire Fighter Near-Miss Reporting System is now a reality. This program was designed to accomplish one primary goal: to reduce firefighter deaths and injuries. Each of our members are hereby encouraged to participate in the program by filing reports, as appropriate, and accessing reports to become familiar with lessons learned. The reports and lessons learned can easily be used as subject matter for in-station training and drills.
Please review the PowerPoint program, which provides an overview of the system, how to access it, and how to file reports. This system provides us with a real opportunity to positively impact the injury and death statistics for firefighters. It also is another opportunity for us to do our part in meeting the goal of the Fallen Firefighters' Foundation to reduce firefighter fatalities in half over the next ten years.
