Uprooted oak falls on house

On September 30, 2007 Engines 45 and 46 and Battalion 40 were dispatched to a possible building collapse. It had been unusually windy and a 60 foot water oak became uprooted and fell on a house, trapping the frightened homeowner inside. Upon arriving on scene, the crew of Engine 45 assisted the homeowner out of a window before the unstable tree fell off the roof onto the ground. The homeowner was uninjured and homeowner's cat was located by a firefighter and returned safely to its owner. There was approximately $8,000 of damage to the house.
