On May 25, 2007 crews from Stations 12, 15, 17 and 35 and Battalion
20 responded to a call in which two SUV's had overturned on Interstate
4. Upon arriving on the scene, crews encountered a male patient
entrapped in one of the vehicles. Firefighter/paramedics crawled inside
the vehicle, established patient contact and care while other
firefighters extricated the patient and stood by with a hose line for
protection.
Once patient care was established, it was determined that Air One
would be needed for transport and a trauma alert was called. EVAC crews
offered patient care to the second patient.
